Des showed me today. The quote in the title is from him, and I agree completely.
Pandora, by the Music Genome Project, is a tool that suggests music to you. You type in an artist you like, and it suggests similar music to you.
The best part is that these suggestions do not take the form of a list of artists, albums and tracks. Instead, you are given your own music station based on what music you like. You get to hear these tracks.
Fantastic. Bloody fantastic.
I second that.
A great Idea. Pandora is the music collection that you never had the time or money to collect. I have my personal station playing in the background when people come over to visit or when I'm relaxing reading book.
Thanks for the book Dave!
May I politely suggest that you stop contemplating the delights of your own music station and update your frickin blog?!

Yeah I've been using Pandora quite a bit for the past while too. Its a really great tool, and I'd advise anybody looking to expand their music tastes to listen to it. I stuck in Bob Dylan, and got a lot of music back which was similar enough to the source that I still enjoyed it, but different enough to give some needed variety. It is impressive how quickly it adapts itself to your particular tastes, and you can skip any tracks you particularly don't like. Very nice.
